Today in Western Civilization we went over the test that we took before the break next we started reading about Rome which was built on seven rolling hills at a curve on the Tiber River in Italy. Rome was near the midpoint of the Mediterranean Sea. The earliest settler on Rome arrived in prehistoric times, the Latins, Greeks, and Etruscans inhabited Rome from about 1000 BC to 500BC. Between 750 BC and 600 BC, the Greeks established colonies around southern Italy and Sicily, these colonies became prosperous. We also learned about the different forms of governments A republic is where the citizens hold the power and vote, Patricians were the wealthy landowners who held power, Plebians were the people who were under class and although they were not treated as well as everone else there were still laws protecting these people.
