Today in Western Civilization we took notes on the Germanic barbarians these barbarians became the nobles or aristocrats of medieval Europe. Germanic tribes who ruled former Roman lands conquered people who lived beyond the frontiers and were still pagans. The angels and Saxons invaded Britain and assimilated the native Britons most angel Saxons were converted to Christianity. Franks was the most powerful Germanic tribe mayors of the palace were royal officials and nobles themselves, Eastern Roman empire was divided up by Barbarian tribes when Justinian came to power in 527 he reunited the Roman empire Justinian succeeded for a little but was conquered by new Barbarian tribes and a plaque depopulated most of the west. Greek Byzantine saw themselves as the heads of the church the Church and Byzantines preserved art architecture philosophy and etc, Justin built a dome that he gave to a church and it was considered to be the most glorious church on earth at this time period we also watched the Turkish ice cream man fool people.

Today in Western Civilization we took the test that we would've taken if we voted to take it, to be honest, I wish that we would have taken the test because I only got three question on that test wrong then we started going over the exam. We also learned a little bit more about Martin Luther and how he was a monk who didn't agree with indulgences which are when you pay the priest money to either make yourself go straight to heaven or somebody in your family who has already died it was basically like an insurance policy. Most people believed this, however, Martin Luther was preaching about God will give you salvation and he cant be bribed. So he wrote something called the 95 theses which were 95 ways that the church was wrong and he nailed them to the front of the church door so that everybody could see them. And then at the very end of class, we started reviewing for the exam.

April 12th

Today in Western Civilization we got a change in class and instead of having our normal class we went to see the genocide program and at the end which in my opinion was the best part we got to hear the son of a survivor talk about his experience and his fathers experience. First, we had some people come from a digital media class and they read some of the names of the people that died during the mass genocide and the reason that genocides are so bad is because it doesn't matter if you are a good person or an evil person if somebody in your family is a certain ethnicity you are going to die for doing absolutely nothing wrong you could be the very best person on the earth but if you are Jewish you will be killed and although it was boring at times by the end I think that everybody learned something.

March 27th

Today in Western Civilization we continued reviewing for our test that we are going to have tomorrow. We need to know a lot about the culture of Ancient Greece and the people in it the thing on the test that I will be the most interested in is philosophy this will also be one of the first grades in the third quarter so I will have to do well. We need to know about the main people in Ancient Greece and who heavily impacted the culture of ancient Greece and the geography of Ancient Greece, unlike the first test this probably will not be an open blog test. The main thing that I will be studying for the test will be the notes that we copied off the board that one of the other Western Civilization classes wrote.
