Today in Western Civilization we went over the test that we recently took then we started taking notes on Religion. The first thing we learned about was Christianity begins with Jesus most of what we know of Jesus comes from the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, gospel means good news, Jesus was a Jewish preacher in Judea who set himself apart from the other Messiahs, Jesus taught Gods person relationship to each human being the message of love. We also learned that Jesus followers believed he was the Messiah and that when he would one day end the world he would bring the truly faithful into the kingdom of God, Jesus was believed to be both man and son of god human and divine. Jesus was deemed a threat to Roman rule so he was crucified. Also, there was a man named Paul he used to not be very religious but he then converted he helped found churches in many places and he kept in touch with the Christians by letters.

Today in Western Civilization we took the test that we would've taken if we voted to take it, to be honest, I wish that we would have taken the test because I only got three question on that test wrong then we started going over the exam. We also learned a little bit more about Martin Luther and how he was a monk who didn't agree with indulgences which are when you pay the priest money to either make yourself go straight to heaven or somebody in your family who has already died it was basically like an insurance policy. Most people believed this, however, Martin Luther was preaching about God will give you salvation and he cant be bribed. So he wrote something called the 95 theses which were 95 ways that the church was wrong and he nailed them to the front of the church door so that everybody could see them. And then at the very end of class, we started reviewing for the exam.

April 12th

Today in Western Civilization we got a change in class and instead of having our normal class we went to see the genocide program and at the end which in my opinion was the best part we got to hear the son of a survivor talk about his experience and his fathers experience. First, we had some people come from a digital media class and they read some of the names of the people that died during the mass genocide and the reason that genocides are so bad is because it doesn't matter if you are a good person or an evil person if somebody in your family is a certain ethnicity you are going to die for doing absolutely nothing wrong you could be the very best person on the earth but if you are Jewish you will be killed and although it was boring at times by the end I think that everybody learned something.

March 27th

Today in Western Civilization we continued reviewing for our test that we are going to have tomorrow. We need to know a lot about the culture of Ancient Greece and the people in it the thing on the test that I will be the most interested in is philosophy this will also be one of the first grades in the third quarter so I will have to do well. We need to know about the main people in Ancient Greece and who heavily impacted the culture of ancient Greece and the geography of Ancient Greece, unlike the first test this probably will not be an open blog test. The main thing that I will be studying for the test will be the notes that we copied off the board that one of the other Western Civilization classes wrote.
